    This issue we explore DNA Breakthroughs in honour of International DNA.

    We celebrate the discovery of DNA's double helix in 1953 and the completion of the human genome project half a century later with features from Northumbria Police and the cold-case Team  who won the prestigious international DNA Hit of the Year award for its use of the national DNA database to bring a murderer to justice.

    Hampshire Constabulary is driving forward with an innovative plan that can revolutionise police fleets across the UK, saving millions of pounds, meanwhile in Lincolnshire four members of staff  have travelled to Kosovo to help train police officers in public order and public safety contingencies.

    PC Tina Newman has received a national award for tirelessly working to help women trapped in street sex work. PC  Newman  helped transform attitudes towards sex workers by pioneering a new approach building trust and engaging with street sex workers as well as liaising with local community groups in the areas of Bristol affected.
